Fox Valley – also known as the Fox River Valley – spans across cities, counties and even state lines. Back in the day, the Tri-Cities area was as far west people could build out from Chicago before hitting the Fox River and it’s marshlands. For that reason, the Tri-Cities became the stopping point for metropolitan expansion, but at the same time became the starting point for a “western” suburban culture in Chicagoland. That culture flourished and is still flourishing to this day. The Tri-City area comprises the following three cities: Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia. They are more or less the same city, just a large one, at that. Therefore, if you’re from the Tri-Cities IL or any of the surrounding cities (Campton Hills, West Chicago, Wayne, South Elgin, Elgin, Elburn, LaFox, etc.), I can assure you that you constantly travel on either of these two main roads that bring this mini-network together: Randall Road and Route 64 (also called Main Street). These two roads intersect right in the middle of St. Charles.
